Sadly, our fellow classmate, Boyd Schroeder, has passed away.

Here is Boyd's obituary as posted on the Penwell-Gable Funeral Home website:

Boyd Andrew Schroeder, 62, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at Hutchinson Good Samaritan Village. He was born January 5, 1952 in Hutchinson to Edwin and Verna Craig Schroeder. He was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. He worked in the dietary department for Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for 34 years, retiring in 2009. He married Sandra Kay Criqui on July 21, 1973. She survives. We are saying goodbye to a much loved brother, husband, and father on this day.

Survivors include his wife, of the home, a son, Chris Schroeder, Hutchinson, sisters, Elizabeth Myers, OK and LaVon Manear, Buhler, brothers, Bud Schroeder, Pierce City, MO, Norman Schroeder, Emporia, and LeRoy Schroeder, Cushing, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Carl David Schroeder.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Amy Claassen presiding. Visitation will be held from 9AM to 9PM Monday, with the family present from 6-8 that evening, all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Reno County Head Start, in care of the funeral home.
