Rebecca Dee “Becky” Hageman, 73, of Wichita, went to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 7, 2025, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. She was born January 27, 1952, in Dodge City, to
Raymond and Betty (McLaughlin) Walden.
Becky graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1970, Hutchinson Community College, and the University of Kansas. She taught medical records classes at Hutchinson Community College and
Hesston College for many years, in addition to working in medical records at Halstead Hospital and Hutchinson Hospital. Known for her quirky sense of humor, Becky enjoyed working in
her flower garden and raising house plants, researching ancestry and genealogy, and international travel – visiting many places in Europe. She also enjoyed singing in Sing Out Reno
County when she lived in Hutchinson. Becky was also a dog lover and loved long walks with her many fur babies over the years. She was a board member of Bukovina Society of the Americas.
On November 27, 1981, Becky married John A. Hageman at Union Valley Bible Church, in Hutchinson. He survives.
Also surviving are: her sister; Rae Lynn Barton of Buhler; nieces, Tammy Hoskinson (Greg) of Hutchinson, Lanette Quint (Michael) of Creede, CO, Renee Becker (Eric) of Andover; nephew,
Chris Barton of Olathe, half-siblings, Andy Wilpolt of Pleasant Hill, CA, Carrie Wilpolt of Pepperell, MA, Mark Wilpolt of Chico, CA, Matthew Wilpolt of Oakland, CA; her faithful
German Shepherd mix companion, Max; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Jay Wilpolt.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Kent Pedersen officiating.
Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday until the day of the service at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to A.S.P.C.A., in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
