Very sad to report that Coach Dan Justice passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. Here is Coach's obituary as published on the Larrison Mortuary website:

Danny Eugene Justice, 79, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Baldwin City. He was born October 2, 1937 in Dodge City to Doral E. and Alma Irene (Arnold) Justice. On August 2, 1959, he married Betty Lou (Plumb) Justice in Pratt.

Danny graduated from Emporia State University with his Masters Degree in Education. He was a math and physical education teacher as well as a High School basketball coach. He was at Hutchinson High School for more than 40 years and won state 2 years in a row, both 1974 and 1975. In 1976 he was a Summer Olympics coach. He started Fellowship of Christian Athletes at 4 high schools that he taught in. He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed outdoor activities.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; four daughters, Alrena (John) Hostetler of Dallas, Texas, Brenda (Mark) Willmore of Baldwin City, Cindy (Todd) Hughes of Olathe and Danell (Brian) Butell of Baldwin City; 12 granchildren, Nichole Pace, Keith Hostetler, Holden Hostetler, Jordan Hostetler, Marcus Willmore, Madeline Doerhoff, Matthew Willmore, Brittian Regehr, Cory Hughes, Addison Hughes, Bridan Butell and Briley Butell; 3 great grandchildren; step-mother, Eleanor Justice of Pratt; and step-sister, Cheryl Daly of Annandale, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may sign the book Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd, Pratt. Visitation with family present will be Sunday 6-7 p.m. at Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Park Place Christian Church, 2600 N. Adams St, Hutchinson with Pastor David Dubovich presiding. Graveside Service will follow at 3:30 p.m at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice or American Heart Association in care of the mortuary.
