Sad to say, but we have lost another one of our classmates. Here is the obituary for Dennis Pauls as published on the Elliott Mortuary website:

NAPLES, Fla., Dennis Wayne Pauls, 64, passed away June 22, 2016, at his home in Naples, Fla., due to complications following a hip fracture. He was born June 5, 1952, to Harold and Mildred (Meyer) Pauls, in Hutchinson.

Dennis graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1970 and attended Hutchinson Community College and Sterling College. In his career, he worked as a life insurance agent and in digital media production, while living in Colorado and Florida.

He married Joan Nelson. They later divorced. Survivors include: father and stepmother, Harold and Shirley Pauls, Hutchinson; brothers, Ron (Jan), Hutchinson, John (Eleanor), Andover, Roger (Denice), Owasso, Okla.; sisters, Deanna Speer (Steve), Wichita, Debbie Barry (Tim), Pittsburgh, Pa.; stepbrother, Jay Hinkel (Debbie), Wichita; stepsisters, Jill McConnell (Bob), Wichita, Joy Towle (Tim), Lawrence; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.

A private family graveside service will be held. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the EOD Warriors Foundation, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
