Unfortunately we have lost another Classmate. Jim Mattison passed away March 7, 2006 in Hutchinson. His obituary was
published in "The Hutchinson News" as follows:
James T. Mattison, 53, died March 7, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born November 1, 1952, at Hutchinson, the son of Jack E. and Barbara Knowlton Mattison. In 1970, he graduated from
Hutchinson High School. He was employed at Decker and Mattison Co.
He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Wildlife Federation and the Sierra Club.
Survivors include: a son, Jake Mattison and his fiance, Katie Clark, Hutchinson; a daughter, Kimberly Fager and her husband,
Kent, Topeka; his father, Jack Mattison and his wife, Mary Ann, Hutchinson; a brother, Brett Mattison and his wife, Colette,
Hutchinson; a sister, Cindy Freeman and her husband, Alan, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, Jackson and Holden Fager,
Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara F. Mattison.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Todd Sinclair presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to Quivira Wildlife Refuge or Hospice of Reno County, both in care of the mortuary.
