Our fellow classmate, Meredith Wilson, has sadly passed away. Below is Meredith's obituary.

Meredith Ann (Wilson) Russell, 71, died of throat cancer complications on Friday, February 17th, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS, surrounded by family. She was born February 14th, 1952, in Hutchinson, KS to Leon "Sonny" and Dorothy (Knipe) Wilson. She married Raymond Russell on March 14th, 1997.

It is hard to sum up a lifetime in a paragraph, but Meredith was known for her appetite for travel and discovering treasures, her cooking - especially her cinnamon rolls - and her artistic ability. She was an avid reader, encouraged others to read and was an advocate for the Cheney Public Library.

Preceded in death by her grandparents and parents. Meredith is survived by her husband, Raymond Russell of Milton, KS; son, Matthew Gordy of Newton, KS; stepdaughter Victoria Russell of Wichita, KS; brothers Thomas J Wilson of Olathe, KS; Todd Wilson of Hutchinson, KS; Eric (Julie) Wilson of Hutchinson, KS; and sister Stephanie (Tom) Jensen of Wichita, KS; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made in Meredith's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children, PO Box 1525, Ransom, WV 25438.

A celebration of Meredith's life will follow at a later date.
