Some of you may remember the twins, Ron and Don Thomas. Below is the obituary of our fellow classmate, Ron Thomas, who, along with his brother Don, were our classmates during our junior year at HHS.
WICHITA - Ron Keith Thomas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and beloved dogs on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at the age of 67.
Ron was born the son of Clifford and Edith (Anduss) Thomas on Friday, April 11, 1952, in Hutchinson, Kansas.
On February 14, 1991, Ron and Kelly (Krehbiel) were united in marriage in Ellsworth, Kansas. Together they celebrated 28 years of marriage.
Ron was a proud member of the United States Army and Vietnam veteran. He was a lover of music and an avid fan of The Beatles. He will be missed by those that knew him.
Survivors include: his wife, Kelly Thomas of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Jennifer Turner of McPherson, Kansas; daughter, Jamie Simpson (Sean) of McPherson, Kansas; step-son, Levi Llamas of Moundridge, Kansas; step-son, Cory Llamas of Hesston, Kansas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Don Thomas (Nancy) of El Dorado, Kansas; brother, James Thomas (Teri) of Hutchinson, Kansas; and a sister, Toni Howell (Frank) of Hutchinson, Kansas.
Ron was preceded in death by: his parents, Clifford and Edith Thomas; brother, Richard ‘Gene’ Thomas; and a sister, Arnette Peterman.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held for Ron on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at 9 a.m. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 1208 North College Street, Winfield, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his loving memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
